Swansea City have officially confirmed the signing of Danny Graham from Watford for a fee of £3.5m. The money shelled out for Graham is the most the Swans have paid in their history for any player. The deal, the Welsh club announced, is subject to Graham passing a medical, which is expected to be completed when the striker returns from holiday.
The Swans have given Graham, who was top scorer in the Championship last season, a four year contract. Graham’s former club Carlisle United are expected to gain a windfall of something in the region of £500K because of the 15% sell on cause inserted when they sold him to Watford for a reported £350,000.
Swansea play a passing game that relies heavily on their two wingers and their midfield personnel while Watford used to have a more direct approach. However the Swans are confident that Graham will fit in well into the scheme of things at the Liberty Stadium.
