Sheffield Wednesday have completed the signing of winger Mike Jones from league rivals Bury. The Owls activated a fee release clause in Jones’ contract with the Shakers and the 24 year old has now put pen to paper a two and a half year deal at Hillsbrough.
Birkenhead born Jones enjoyed the most productive part of his career at Bury, having joined them from Tranmere Rovers in 2008. He has also had a previous loan spell at Shrewsbury.
The winger made over a 150 appearances for the Shakers, scoring 22 goals in the process.
Bury tried to get Jones to agree to a new deal but were unable to do so and had to eventually sell him to the Owls.
