Plymouth looking to keep loan duo

Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock is hoping to tie up permanent deals for Manchester United full-back David Gray and Aston Villa defender Shane Lowry. Both youngsters are currently on loan at Home Park and have proved big successes. In fact Scottish youngster Gray is in his second loan spell at the club and has made nine appearances for the Pilgrims this season. However he due to return to United in late December.

Sturrock intends on asking champions Manchester United whether he can sign the full-back on a permanent basis. Sturrock told the Herald: “It is definitely something to talk about; something to see where Manchester United are coming from,”

The Argyle boss has also expressed his desire to keep young Lowry. However he doesn’t think that his club will be willing to part with the defender.

He continued: “I wouldn’t expect to have a chance of signing him permanently.

“I do feel we have benefited his career and I think there is no harm in him being with us until the end of the season. Both Lowry and Gray would be a miss if they left, so we will have to wait and see how the conversations go.”
