Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen has resigned himself to leaving Anfield this summer in order to continue playing regular football. Danish international Poulsen, signed from Juventus last summer, failed to make a mark last season and is unlikely to garner too much playing time this season either with competition for spots coming from Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles, Jonjo Shelvey, Lucas, Jay Spearing, new signings Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam and the returned-from-loan Alberto Aquilani.
Poulsen told Danish television station TV2 that he was hopeful of a resolution to his Liverpool future this month itself. The two time Danish footballer of the Year has two years left on his contract with Kenny Dalglish’s side and is unlikely to be short of suitors should Liverpool allow him to leave Anfield.
