Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen could be set to sign for a Premier League club and a deal could be struck as early as the start of next week. The Danish international is rated in the £6million bracket and is keen to leave Turin to gain regular first team football.
Tottenham, West Ham, Portsmouth and Fulham have all made approaches for the 29 year-old and a deal is close according to Lee Anderson an agent working on behalf of Juve in England. He told Skysports.com: “We have had expressions of interest from four southern-based clubs in England.
“We are having a meeting tonight and things could be wrapped up by Monday.”
The former Schalke midfielder is hoping to play regularly next season in a bid to play for his national team at next summer’s World Cup and Juventus haven’t ruled out a potential season-long loan deal with a view for a permanent deal next summer. However Juventus are likely to want to recoup money to help them strengthen their squad for a challenge on the Serie A title next season.
Juve’s Italian rivals Inter have agreed personal terms with Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o, ahead of a swap deal involving Inter’s Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish star is yet to agree personal terms at the Camp Nou, but reports are that the deal is likely to be completely early next week. Barca midfielder Alexander Helb will also join Inter on a season-long loan as part of the deal.
