Manchester United are reportedly interested in bringing Moussa Dembele back to the Premier League as they seek to fill the boots left by Romelu Lukaku’s exit earlier this summer.
Dembele currently plays for Lyon in Ligue 1, and the Red Devils have earmarked him as a potential replacement for Lukaku after previous target Mario Mandzukic appears to have decided to stay in Italy, with a move to Milan on the anvil for the Croatian.
Dembele is no stranger to the Premier League or the UK- having represented Fulham between 2013 and 2016 and Scottish champions Celtic for another two years before moving down south to France in 2018 for 22 million euros. His contract with Les Gones runs till the end of the 2022/23 season. He has represented France at various age group levels, but is yet to earn a senior cap for Les Bleus.
United have had their worst start to a campaign in the modern Premier League era. Lyon aren’t faring too better either- they’re currently 14th in Ligue 1 and have already sacked manager Sylvinho. Dembele though has already netted 6 times in 8 league games for the Rhone Valley outfit this season.
