Liverpool have let the quartet of Harry Wilson, Harvey Elliott, Ben Woodburn and Herbie Kane leave on transfer deadline day. Wilson, Elliott and Woodburn have been loaned out to EFL clubs while Kane has completed a permanent switch, moving to Barnsley for £1.25m.
Welsh international Wilson has joined Cardiff on loan for the remainder of the season, with the Bluebirds also paying Liverpool a loan fee of £1.2m for the winger’s services. This will be the 23-year-old’s fifth loan stint since joining the Reds, having previously had temporary deals with Crewe, Hull, Derby and Bournemouth.
Teenager Elliott has opted to move to Blackburn Rovers to gain more first team football experience. The 17-year-old played in Liverpool’s 7-2 Cup victory over Lincoln City last month and is regarded as one of the club’s best young talents.
21-year-old forward Woodburn has been snapped up by Blackpool on loan till January. The Seasiders, who currently play in League One, are managed by former Reds coach Neil Critchley. They’ve however had a poor start to the new 20/21 campaign, winning just one of their five league games so far, and are third from bottom in the league standings.
