French giants Paris Saint-Germain have officially completed the signing of Goncalo Ramos on loan from SL Benfica. Ramos has moved to the French capital on a season-long loan, with the Parisians expected to make the deal permanent in 2024 at the end of the loan stint. The fee is expected to be around the 80-million-euro mark.
The 22-year-old Ramos arrives at Parc des Princes at a time when there appears to be a big question over the futures of both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr at the club. Lionel Messi has already left the Ligue 1 outfit to join Inter Miami in the MLS.
Ramos scored 27 goals across all competitions for Benfica last season, including 19 in the league as they edged Porto to the title. SLB also reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League, topping a group that also had PSG and Juve, but lost to Inter in the last eight.
Ramos scored a hat trick at last year’s World Cup in Portugal’s 6-1 Round of 16 win over Switzerland. It lead to him keeping his spot in the starting XI ahead of the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo for the quarter-final against Morocco, a game Portugal lost 1-0.
