According to reports emerging from France, leaders Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in bringing N’Golo Kante back home next summer. PSG have been encouraged by news of a potential breakdown in the relationship between the midfielder and Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.
Under Sarri, Kante has been forced to play out of position in a more advanced role, with his traditional spot going to new signing Jorginho. To his credit, Kante has made the best of his new position, although pundits and fans wonder if Chelsea are getting the best out of him by playing him there.
Kante inked a new five year deal with Chelsea last year. But the thought of becoming the central man in midfield under Thomas Tuchel and returning to his homeland could appeal to the 27 year old.
PSG signed Leandro Paredes in the winter window to bolster their midfield, effectively settling for the Zenit star after failing in their attempt to acquire Everton’s Idrissa Gueye.
PSG remain a dominant force in France but the Champions League would be the icing on the cake for their Qatari owners, and Kante’s signing would certainly strengthen their squad. They are due to face Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s Manchester United in the Round of 16 later this month.
