Newly promoted Queens Park Rangers have dismissed rumours in the press linking the club to England midfielder David Beckham. Beckham now plays in the MLS with Los Angeles Galaxy and the Hoops were widely linked with a swoop for him in order to bolster their chances of staying in the Premier League.
However QPR vice-chairman Amit Bhatia has denied that the Hoops were trying to sign Beckham and told the West London Sport that there was no truth in the rumours.
Beckham’s contract with Galaxy ends this November following which he will be a free agent. He has been previously linked with a return to the Premier League with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Blackburn cited as possible destinations for the former Man Utd star.
