Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers have signed Jay Simpson on a season long loan from Arsenal. The 20 year could make his debut for the Hoops in Saturday’s league game against Scunthorpe United. QPR reportedly beat off competition from three Premier League clubs to secure Simpson’s services, and the youngster has himself said that a meeting with Jim Magilton convinced him to move to Loftus Road at this crucial juncture of his career
Simpson has been at Arsenal since 1999, and has been loaned out to Millwall and West Bromwich Albion in the past.
He was part of the young Arsenal side that destroyed Wigan Athletic in the third round of the Carling Cup last season, and scored twice in that game.
