Championship side Reading have signed Celtic defender Darren O’Dea on a six month loan. The Royals finalised a deal for the Irish international just hours after he had put pen to paper a new three year deal with Celtic.
Reading boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted that O’Dea had chosen the Madjeski as his next destination. He added that the centre half’s experience of playing in the Champions League would come in handy for Reading as they aim to return to the Premiership in 2010.
Reading also shipped out third choice goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen to Bristol Rovers on loan on transfer deadline day.
