According to reports, Manchester City are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Isco and have contacted the player’s representatives over a potential move to the Premier League.
The 26 year old Isco, a former Euro U21 winner with Spain, is currently unsettled at the Bernabeu, with opportunities appearing limited under new Los Blancos manager Santiago Solari.
Since the Argentine took over the reigns of the club from Julen Lopetegui, Isco is yet to make a league start, and has been mainly restricted to appearances off the bench. In their most recent league game against Vallecano, he was an unused sub, and as noticed by the Spanish media, didn’t even warm up like others on the bench normally do.
He was not even in the squad for the crunch Champions League tie against Roma, and only made an appearance in the inconsequential final home game against CSKA, with Real’s progress to the last 16 assured.
Man City would be an interesting destination, given that manager Pep Guardiola is also Spanish. However Real president Florentino Perez is said to prefer Isco staying at the Bernabeu, with reports indicating that Man City would have to pay a huge sum- somewhere in excess of 100 million euros, to bring the medio to the Etihad Stadium.
