Big Spending Real Madrid have recouped some of the money they have spent this summer by selling Dutch pair Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder. Playmaker Wesley Sneijder joined Jose Mourinho at Serie A champions Inter Milan for a reported fee of £15million. The former Ajax ace has signed a five-year deal at the San Siro.
The 25 year-old told the clubs official website: “Mourinho is one of the world’s greatest coaches,”
“I’m really happy to be able to work with him and he has had a really important role in this decision.
“I think Inter is an amazing club, one of the biggest in the world, so I’m very happy to be here,”
“We have a great team at the moment so I think I will have a great time here.”
Arjen Robben has joined German giants Bayern Munich for a fee believed to be £22million. He has signed a four- contract at the Allianz Arena. Robben told Bayern’s official website: “I feel very welcome here. This is a big club with a great history and I am delighted to be here now.”
Real boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he didn’t particular want to sell the pair, but the books needed to balanced at the Bernabeu.“They are two good players who would have been useful to us,” he revealed. Sneijder impressed in his first season in La Liga, but last season he suffered injury problems which didn’t help his form. Arjen Robben also suffered injury and fitness problems last season. Although the former Chelsea winger found decent form towards the end of the season.
