Manchester United have completed the signing of midfielder Shinji Kagawa from German champions Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £12.5million. The deal for the 23 year-old has been mooted for the past couple of weeks and has now been completed. This news should delight the United fans as the Red Devils look to win the Premier League title for a 20th time.
Kagawa has played a key role in Dortmund becoming the best team in Germany. His vision, goals and playmaking skills have helped Dortmund to two consecutive Bundesliga titles and also German cup last season.
An attacking midfielder was one of United boss’ Sir Alex Ferguson’s main priorities this summer. It was widely acknowledged last season that the Red Devils lacked creativity in the centre of the park and had to call Paul Scholes out of retirement.
The signing of Kagawa will attract massive commercial interest in Manchester United in the Far East and help make the club to become even more popular in Asia.
