Reds legend Fowler to play in Thailand

Former Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has agreed to join Thai Premier League outfit Muang Thong United in a shock transfer deal. The announcement was made by Muang Thong United manager Ronnarit Suewaja, who said that Fowler would help to raise the standard and popularity of Thai football.

Fowler was a free agent after leaving A-League outfit Perth Glory earlier this year and at the time of his departure, had expressed a desire to return to England and earn his coaching badges.

Thailand will therefore become the third country to host the 36 year old Fowler after the United Kingdom and Australia.

Muang Thong won the 2010 Thai Premier League and are the highest ranked Thai team in the Asian club rankings.
