Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of midfielder Radoslav Petrovic from Partizan Belgrade. The Serbian international becomes only Rovers’ second signing of the summer after Scottish striker David Goodwillie, who arrived at Ewood Park from Dundee United. Petrovic has signed a four year contract with Blackburn but details of the transfer fee paid by the Lancashire outfit were not disclosed.
Petrovic was close to completing a move to Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem last month but the transfer collapsed at the last moment. The midfielder, who joined Partizan from Radnički Obrenovac in 2008, has earned 19 caps for the Serbian national team and is currently with his team mates for tomorrow evening’s international fixture against Russia. He was named in the Serbian league’s team of the season for both 2009-10 and 2010-11.
Petrovic may feature in Rovers’ opening game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
