Southampton have officially completed the signing of promising youngster Armando Broja on a season long loan. The Albanian international is Saints’ third signing from Chelsea in the current window, following in the footsteps of Dynel Simeu and Tino Livramento, who have also moved from London to the South Coast in the last fortnight.
Broja spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie and scored 10 goals in 30 league appearances for them. The Slough born youngster penned a new five-year contract last month and is contracted to Chelsea till the summer of 2026.
The 19-year-old has made only one league appearance for the Blues- off the bench as a substitute for Olivier Giroud in their 4-0 win over Everton in February last year. He has however already been capped six times by Albania at senior level.
Saints were in the market for a forward following the shock departure of Danny Ings to Aston Villa. Apart from Broja, they are also looking to sign Adam Armstrong from Blackburn Rovers, with a deal all but agreed for the latter as well.
