According to reports, Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico and are open to the idea of bringing the Argentine left back to the Premier League this summer. Albion view him as a potential successor to Marc Cucurella, who has been heavily linked with a move to reigning champions Manchester City.
The Seagulls though aren’t the only club interested in securing the 29-year-old’s services- Lyon and Sevilla are both in the race as well. Sevilla could well end up being Tagliafico’s first choice- they will play in the Champions League and language will not be an issue for him in La Liga. However, the Andalusian outfit do have plenty of competition in his position, and a move to a smaller club might make more sense given that he needs every minute of first team football possible in a crucial World Cup year.
Tagliafico joined Ajax from Independiente in his native Argentina back in 2018. According to reports, the Dutch giants could be willing to let him go for as little as 4 million euros.
Barcelona reportedly wanted to sign Tagliafico back in January, but Ajax blocked the transfer, a decision that made the Argentine international unhappy.
