Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos has completed a loan move to Everton until the end of the season. The 24 year-old had fallen out of favour with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and has moved to gain regular first team football.
The Swiss international had been linked with numerous other clubs including fellow Premier League side West Ham but the Toffee’s have now secured his signature. He has gained a wealth of experience during his short career and spent last season on loan at Italian giants AC Milan.
However he returned to the Emirates Stadium in the summer and has found it hard to break up the central defensive partnership of William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen. It became clear that Senderos future was elsewhere when Arsenal resigned former England defender Sol Campbell earlier this month.
Senderos told the clubs official website:”I am delighted to be an Everton player for the remainder of the season,”
“I can’t wait to get stuck in and play for Everton. Hopefully I can get some first team football in during my time here. I am here with high hopes and hopefully I can fulfil them.
“I have spoken to David Moyes and he hopes to give me opportunities here. Hopefully I can grab that opportunity and stay in the team.
