Macclesfield Town have completed the signing of midfielder Dwaine Mattis on a free transfer. The Silkmen swooped for Mattis after his contract with Chesterfield Town was cancelled. Mattis has signed a contract that will keep him at Moss Rose till the end of the current 2011/12 season.
Mattis was a regular for Chesterfield as they lifted the League Two crown last season but appeared sparingly for the Spireites this season because of an ankle problem.
The 30 year old has previously represented the likes of Huddersfield Town, Bury, Barnsley and Walsall in his career.
Macclesfield finished 15th in League Two last season while Chesterfield, as mentioned above, won the League ahead of Bury and Wycombe.
