Valencia midfielder David Silva has revealed that his club received a late bid from an English club during the last transfer window. Reports in the media also suggest that Manchester United could be ready to bid for the Spanish international in the January window. A bid believed to be in the region of £20million has be mooted.
It looked certain that the midfielder would move away from La Liga side Valencia with the club suffering financial difficulties but the clubs finances seem to have improved. Silva and teammate David Villa were linked with moves to Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester United during the summer. Both have the stayed at the Mestalla.
The 23 year-old has also revealed that he is happy at Los Ches but has left the door open on a move in the future. He has also been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid and European Champions Barcelona.
“It is true that there was a bid from a big English club,” he told The News of the World.
“If it was only a question of money then I would have accepted the move.
“Things can change in the future but right now I am happy in Valencia and I did not have sufficient motive to leave.”
