According to reports emanating from Spain Premier League runners-up Manchester City are close to sealing the £17million signing of Sevilla winger Jesus Navas. The 27-year-old has previously been linked with moves to Tottenham and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Navas’ career has stalled at times because of a psychological problem that meant that the winger was afraid to be away from home. The problem prevented him from representing Spain in away games.
He sought help with his problem and was part of the Spain squad that won the World Cup in 2010 and European Championship two years later. The highly-rated winger has 22 caps to his name and is regarded as a one of the most exciting out-and-out wingers in the European game.
Navas has already stated that he would be interested in a move to City, so his problems with homesickness must now be a thing of the past.
Navas is believed to be interesting City despite the fact that the Citizens have no manager. Former-Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini is expected for talks in Manchester in the next week though. Pellegrini knows Navas well from his time in La Liga and is a known admirer of the Sevilla ace.
