Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly very interested in Napoli’s Polish star Arkadiusz Milik and are expected to bid for the 26-year-old this summer. The striker’s contract expires at the end of the 2020/21 season and is yet to pen an extension at Stadio San Paolo.
Milik joined Napoli from Ajax in 2016, but his stay in Naples hasn’t quite been helped by frequent injuries- he has made a little over 100 appearances in all competitions across all four seasons, and has twice suffered cruciate ligament injuries.
However Spurs are not alone in their pursuit of Milik- Serie A champions Juventus are also said to keeping tabs on the Polish international’s progress. A move to Juve would re-unite Milik with Maurizio Sarri, the manager who originally brought him to Italy.
Milik, who has represented Poland both at Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup, is valued at around 40 million euros by the Partenopei.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen a number of positions as he seeks to rebuild his squad for next season. A quality forward is on top of that list, are as a midfielder and a defender, with Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Norwich’s Max Aarons both heavily linked with the Lilywhites
