Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced that the trio of Danny Rose, Rafael van der Vaart and Giovani dos Santos have left the club. Rose has stayed in England by signing for North-East club Sunderland on loan, while Van der Vaart has gone back to his previous club Hamburger SV. Barcelona youth product Dos Santos, a member of Mexico’s Olympic gold winning team who never really settled down at the Lane, has left for Spanish club Real Mallorca.
Rose’s signing comes a day after Sunderland sold Kieran Richardson to Fulham. Van der Vaart had been linked with a return to Hamburg all summer, but club sources insisted he would stay in London, where he’s enjoyed a relative successful period. Van der Vaart was one of Harry Redknapp’s most astitute signings, arriving from Real Madrid.
