Young Tottenham starlet Andros Townsend has agreed to join Leeds United on loan till the end of the season. Townsend, who recently signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Lane till 2016, could make his Leeds debut when they take on Burnley on Monday.
Winger Townsend is hailed as one of Spurs’ brightest upcoming talents and was a regular part of their 2011-12 Europa League campaign. He has also had previous loan experience with Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient, Milton Keynes Dons, Ipswich, Watford and Millwall.
Townsend was linked with a move to Spurs’ London rivals Queens Park Rangers last month, but the Lilywhites have preferred to send him out to Championship outfit Leeds.
