This is one bit of transfer gossip you would never have expected.
According to the Daily Mail, veteran Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes is a target for Stoke City. The Potters are keen to offer Scholes, who has played over 600 games for Manchester United, a one year playing contract along with an option to move into coaching.
Scholes has been at Manchester United for the last two decades, and is only the fourth United player to make over 600 appearances for the Red Devils.
Previous reports in the media suggested that Scholes could have a spell at Oldham Athletic, the club he supported as a boy, after he ended his career at Manchester United.
Has Scholes played his last game for United? Or will the Potters get the thumbs down from the Salford born medio?
