Premier League Stoke are set to complete a double swoop on transfer deadline day. The Potters are about to complete the £2.5million signing of USA international Brek Shea from Dallas, after the midfielder was granted a work permit.
Tony Pulis’ men are also set to complete the £5million signing of Birmingham and England keeper Jack Butland. The 19 year-old star is believed to have turned down the chance to join European champions Chelsea, in favour of first team football at the Britannia Stadium.
However, the youngster will stay with the Blues until the end of the season. Butland will have to dislodge current number one Asmir Begovic, who has been heavily linked with a move to league leaders Manchester United.
The Bosnian has stated that he doesn’t believe that he will be leaving the club before tonight’s deadline. If the former-Portsmouth ace does leave in the summer then Butland could prove the ideal replacement.
