Sunderland have agreed a fee with Championship club Wolves for Scotland international striker Steven Fletcher. The fee has yet to be revealed, but it is likely to be a significant one. Wolves have already turned down three bids for Fletcher from the Black Cats, but have now came to an agreement.
Fletcher is a fans favourite at Molineux and was Wolves top scorer with 12 goals last season, despite playing in a struggling team who were eventually relegated. Fletcher is now expected up in the north east to discuss personal terms and have a medical.
According to reports the Black Cats have also bid £10million for Fletcher’s Wolves teammate Matt Jarvis. The England winger has already handed in a transfer request and Sunderland are believed to have bid £7million, with £3million as add-ons.
Sunderland have told Wolves that they won’t bid any higher and if the bid is rejected then they will look at alternative options.
