Premier League Sunderland are interested in signing Fulham’s Clint Dempsey. The USA international has been frozen out of the Fulham team in recent weeks, after he refused to play. The 29 year-old refused to play because he believed that he was on the verge of joining Liverpool.
The move never materialised and Dempsey is now in limbo. Sunderland are now believed to be interested in offering the attacking midfielder an escape route from Craven Cottage. The Black Cats have already brought in Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson this summer, but boss Martin O’Neill doesn’t seem to be finished in the transfer market.
Fulham are looking for a fee in the region of £8million and Sunderland could make am ambitious move for the forward before the transfer window shuts on Friday night. Liverpool could also re-ignite their interest in Dempsey.
