Swansea City are said to be closing in on the permanent signing of Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. The young medio was a vital figure for the Swans as they managed to stay up comfortably in their first season of Premier League football and officials have quickly moved to open talks with German outfit TSG Hoffenheim, the club from which he was taken on loan, for a permanent transfer.
According to reports, the two teams have agreed an £7m transfer fee, which has taken the Swans very close to completing his signature. If the transfer does go through, Sigurdsson will be the Welsh outfit’s most expensive signing.
