Blackpool have completed the signing of Scottish midfielder Barry Ferguson from Birmingham City. Ferguson has been brought in by Tangerines boss Ian Holloway to strengthen the Seasiders’ midfield following the departure of club skipper Charlie Adam, Ferguson’s former team mate at Rangers, to Liverpool.
Ferguson has signed a two year deal with Blackpool with a further option for another year and becomes Ian Holloway’s sixth signing of the summer. The move also reunites him with ex Birmingham team mate Kevin Phillips, who also recently moved from the Midlands to Bloomfield Road.
The fee for Ferguson, who had a year to go on his Birmingham contract, was not revealed, but sources estimate it to be somewhere around the 600,000 pound mark.
