Hull City, or the Tigers, has made a GBP7 million to bring back the young, talented striker Fraizer Campbell into its attacking squad.
Hull City chairman Paul Duffen and Boss Phil Brown have been desperately doubling efforts to secure Campbell, who has made a phenomenal debut while on loan at Hull. Campbell impressed the Tigers with his 15 goals in 32 starts, which brought Hull to the Premier League for the first time ever.
However, after making an impressive performance in his first start in Manchester United against Newscastle, the twenty-year-old striker Fraizer Campbell is looking to stay longer in the elite club. He expressed his gratefulness to be in the team and is hoping to have more chances to play in the future.
Although Manchester United coach Alex Fergusson believed Campbell has a promising future in the club, he is planning to loan Campbell back to Hull once another player comes in, in hopes to improve the team’s attacking strategy.
Campbell jumsstarted his career in July 1004 when he joined the Manchester United Academy and made a huge mark after racking 14 goals in 22 stars for the Under-18s. In 2005, Manchester United assigned him the number 51 shirt, and was officially absorbed into the club in March 2006. For the whole duration of the 206-07 season, Campbell played for Man U’s Belgian affiliate club, Royal Antwerp, where he once again showed his soccer prowess, hence gaining him the nickname “Super Campbell.” He had a series of successful matches after that. In July 2008, he was tapped to join the Manchester United first team in a tour to South Africa and scored a goal in the team’s victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the 2008 Vodacom Challenge.
Because of Campbell’s amazing performances in the past, there is still speculation that Man U may not let go of Campbell until a deal to get in a competent striker is struck. Rumors are rife that Tottenhamm Hotspur’s Diitar Berbatov will be joining Man U soon. The club, however, will neither confirm nor deny reports. Spurs’s sporting director Damien Comolli, meanwhile, is holding on to hopes that Berbatov will stay on the team. The club says the Bulgarian has been training for Sunday’s match with Chelsea and is optimistic the striker will stay.
Meanwhile, Sunderland defender Paul McShane will be joining Hull City for the next season as the Tigers have inked a loan deal with Sunderland to absorb the twenty-two-year-old Irish. McShane has played for Sunderland in 21 Premier League matches. However, he has yet to appear for the Wearside club this term. His chances, however, are slim due to the coming in of West Ham United center-back Anton Ferdinand. Well, he might just need a little more of the Irish luck.
Earlier, Charlton Athletic has been keeping tabs on signing in McShane. Although Charlton recently added Portmouth’s Linvoy Primus on its defending squad, the club is keen on adding another one to boost its squad.
Charlton’s manager Alan Pardew has been keeping an eye on McShane, whom he thinks is a very good and professional athlete. Pardew has reportedly confirmed talks wih Sunderland over the club’s interest over the defender.
