The Daily Express, Daily Mail and Manchester Evening News amongst others have revealed that Norwich’s impressive young central-midfielder Todd Cantwell could be on the move with Manchester United the latest club to throw their hat into the ring. The 21-year-old has delivered a string of impressive performances for the Canaries in their first season in the top flight since 2015-16.
Although his team is currently rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, Daniel Farke’s side have won plaudits for not abandoning their principles following their promotion from the Championship last season. They play attractive, fluid, attacking football and Todd Cantwell has been an integral part of this.
In the current market, Cantwell is likely to command a fee in excess of £30-million. He is one of a number of young English players on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar, the others being James Maddison, Jack Grealish and Sean Longstaff.
If they are to secure a deal for the youngster, however, they will have to fend off the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, both of whom are admirers of Cantwell.
