Everton have completed a double signing on Deadline Day, with Donny van de Beek moving from Manchester United on loan and Dele Alli arriving at Goodison Park on a permanent deal. The Toffees also confirmed Frank Lampard as their new manager.
Van de Beek has struggled for game time since joining United from Ajax- he hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance for them this season, and with one eye on the World Cup in Qatar later this year, has opted for a loan switch after discussions with interim Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick.
Alli has joined on a free transfer, but the fee could potentially rise to as much as £40m based on add-ons. He has put pen to paper a two-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at Goodison Park till the summer of 2024.
The 25-year-old had slipped down the pecking order in North London after the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, with the likes of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte not really rating the midfielder, and he leaves Spurs after seven years with the club.
Everton will host Brentford in the FA Cup this weekend followed by a crunch away league clash at fellow strugglers Newcastle, who have also invested heavily into their squad in the winter window.
