Toffees Sweet On Huddlestone

It’s been reported that Everton have had a bid in the region of £8.5million accepted for Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone. The player is highly rated but Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is expected to have a major overhaul of his squad this summer and the former England under-21international could be amongst those to exit White Hart Lane. The player has become frustrated at not being a regular starter and looks set to move on this summer.

The burly midfielder is also attracting the interests of Aston Villa and big spending Manchester City, but Everton appear to be the first club to have made their move. David Moyes is looking to sign a midfield anchorman and Huddlestone fits the bill perfectly. Not only is Huddlestone a good tackler, he also has tremendous vision on the ball and can pick out a killer pass.

Villa have already been linked with a swap deal involving Huddlestone and their out of favour midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker and they could renew their interest in the player in the light of this reported news. Manchester City however have been linked with the player also, but City could pursue other options with seemingly a bottomless pit of money available to manager Mark Hughes.
