According to reports emerging from Spain, new Barcelona manager Xavi has shortlisted Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres as potential attacking targets to add to his squad. Olmo plays for RB Leipzig, but is a former Barca youth product while Torres currently plies his trade for Man City in the Premier League.
Barca are reportedly looking for a versatile attacking winger who could also double up as a striker, which would see Torres fit the bill better than Olmo, but whether Pep Guardiola will be willing to let him leave the Etihad is another matter altogether. The Catalans are ideally looking to reinforce their squad in January, but could wait till the summer if that is what it takes to bring their primary targets to the Nou Camp.
Apart from Olmo and Torres, Barca have also been linked with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Timo Werner. The Blaugrana are currently a disappointing 9th in the table with 17 points from 12 games, a whopping 11 behind leaders Real Sociedad, and their poor run of form forced the board to recently sack Ronald Koeman and replace him with club legend Xavi. Barca’s first game after the international break will be a derby against local rivals Espanyol
