According to Sky Sports reports Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has travelled to France to try and finalise a deal for Marseille striker Loic Remy. The 25 year-old has been on Spurs radar for a long time. In fact he was one of former-boss Harry Redknapp’s main transfer targets before he left the club.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas stated last week that he didn’t think that his club would strengthen their forward line this summer. However, it seems Spurs have now made a u-turn in their stances on strikers. Villas-Boas has just two senior strikers available to him in Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor, who recently joined the club on a permanent basis.
Remy has been highly-regarded for a number of years since his days at Nice. He hasn’t quite fulfilled his potential at Marseille, but has still won a number of caps for France. A move to the Premier League would be an attractive proposition for the striker and it seems that Tottenham are determined to do a deal.
