In order to boost their chances of European qualification,Tottenham Hotspur have decided to be aggressive in the transfer market. Tottenham have fair amount of cash to splurge – a luxury for most Premier League teams. And they have narrowed down on Atletico Madrid captain Maxi Rodriguez and promising Galatasaray winger Arda Turan as their prime targets.
Argentinian Maxi Rodriguez is one of the most experienced player in La Liga and is widely regarded as one of the best left sided midfielder in Spain. Tottenham have faced problems on the left side of midfield and Rodriguez would be a perfect match. Arda Turan is an exciting right footed winger, who can play on both flanks, thus adding versatility to the side.
Tottenham were also keen on 32-year-old Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy to boost their striking options. But the interest seems to have cooled down after the player demanded high wages and lingering doubts surrounding his fitness.
Two players heading out of the Lane are Jermaine Jenas and Didier Zokora with Harry Redknapp willing to listen to offers for the pair. Sevilla have reportedly offered 6 million pounds for Zokora but Tottenham are holding out for 7.5 million.
