According to reports in The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur have beaten a host of other Premier League teams to complete the double signing of Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker from Sheffield United. Tottenham fended off a stern challenge from Everton who were also given permission to discuss terms with Naughton.
According to the deal, Naughton will join Tottenham immediately and would be the fourth right back at the club while Walker will be loaned back to the Blades for one whole season. With the capture of Naughton, Redknapp has made Pascal Chimbonda and Alan Hutton available on the transfer market. Also, 19-year old youngster Chris Gunter has been loaned out to Nottingham Forest for a year.
Tottenham are also very close to completing a €15 million deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Negredo. Negredo has been linked with a move to the Premier League all summer, especially after his agent stated that there was a 95 percent chance of him playing in England at the start of the new season. Harry Redknapp had laid his eyes on Klaas Jan Huntelaar, but with the Dutch striker moving to Stuttgart, he had to move for Negredo who had a very good Spanish league campaign scoring 19 goals in a struggling Almeria side.
