Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that the club are still in talks with Valencia about the prospective signing of Spanish international striker Roberto Soldado. Los Ches could be set to stand firm of their £25.8million valuation of the striker.
Any deal for Soldado is unlikely to be financed by the sale of star player Gareth Bale. The Welsh international had been linked with a big money move to Real Madrid in the Spanish press.
However, Tottenham are now set to hold talks with Bale about extending his current contract. Manchester United were also believed to be interested in signing Bale.
