Tottenham boss Andre Villas-boas has revealed that he won’t be pursuing the clubs interest in Marseille striker Loic Remy, as earlier believed. However, Tottenham are now being heavily linked with a move for Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.
The Spanish international striker has told the Basque club that he wants to leave this summer. The 27 year-old has less than a year on his current contract and was expected to move on. With the transfer window closing tomorrow night time is running out for him to secure a move away from the San Mames.
Serie A champions Juventus were the favourites to sign Llorente, but a deal to sign the striker seems to have stalled. Tottenham now look to be at the front of the queue for the striker and could make a beat-the-deadline move to sign the front man.
