England winger Ashley Young is wanted by Harry Redknapp and Spurs are making a final push to secure the services of Young before the closure of the current transfer window. With Tottenham having qualified for the group stages of the Champions League, Redknapp has additional cash to spend. With Villa having been eliminated from Europa League, a move to White Hart Lane would ensure Champions League football for Young and would be a step-up from his current club.
Tottenham are willing to offer around £15 million for the winger. They are also open to a cash plus player deal involving either Keane or Jenas or Hutton moving to Villa Park in exchange for Young. With just one day left for the window to close, Tottenham’s efforts to sign their potential targets have reached their acme. Tottenham are also pushing for the signing of West Ham skipper Scott Parker, Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra and Villareal forward Giuseppe Rossi.
