With Champions League football in their backpocket, Tottenham are wanting to leave no stone unturned in attracting some of Europe’s top footballing talent. News filtering out of Spain suggests that Harry Redknapp will make an astounding £28m bid for Valencia winger David Silva. Silva can play on either wing or in the hole behind the strikers. Valencia have secured Champions League football of their own next season, but have massive debts to repay. As a result, they would be forced to accept bids for their two prized assets – David Villa and David Silva.
Everton’s South African midfielder Steven Pienaar also remains a Tottenham target. The former Ajax midfielder has stalled his contract talks at Goodison Park. With Pienaar waiting till after the World Cup to get his contract sorted, Tottenham could make a move for the creative midfielder who has adjusted well to life in the Premier League.
Harry Redknapp has his eyes also on Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari. Redknapp introduced the Ghana medio to English football when he signed him for Portsmouth back in 2007. Muntari has been frozen on the bench this year under Mourinho’s leadership and Inter may well be willing to listen to offers for the African.
