After securing the fourth Champions League spot, Harry Redknapp is keen to add a host of stars to his squad as he prepares his assault on Europe’s top competition. The first name on his long list of targets is of Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano. Tottenham are expected to make a formal £18 million bid for the Brazilian forward.
Although Fabiano has repeatedly mentioned that he’s happy to continue in Spain, the triple prospect of increasing his wages, playing in the BPL and playing for Spurs in the Champions League would be too hard to resist. Fabiano has only one year left on his contract with Sevilla. He had nearly moved to Inter Milan last summer, but the Italian giants pulled out after Sevilla demanded £20 million for his services. Redknapp currently has four strikers at the club – namely Keane, Crouch, Defoe and Pavlyuchenko. The arrival of Fabiano could lead to either Keane or Pavlyuchenko making a move away from White Hart Lane.
According to other reports in England, Tottenham are also pursuing Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy and Getafe midfielder Pedro Leon.
