Tranmere Rovers have completed the signing of versatile defender Chris McCready on loan till the end of the season from Northampton Town. The 28 year old was looking for a move away from Sixfields after making only thirteen starts for the Cobblers since his transfer from Crewe Alexandra in the summer.
McCready started his senior career with Crewe in 2000 and was loaned out to Hyde United in 2001. He stayed at Crewe for another five years and left them at the end of the 2005- 2006 season after the club was relegated to League One.
He joined Tranmere in 2006 and made over 40 appearances for the Super Whites before rejoining Crewe on a two year contract in June 2007.
Cobblers boss Ian Sampson said that he believed the switch would help McCready further his career and get some valuable playing time under his belt.
