Bolton Wanderers have made South Korean winger Lee Chung-Yong their fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The Trotters have signed the FC Seoul midfielder for an undisclosed fee on a three year contract. Reports estimate the fee is somewhere around £2.2m. Chung-Yong has been granted a work permit, and is eligible to play in Bolton’s season opener tomorrow against Sunderland.
The 21 year old has been capped for Korea at U-20 and U-23 levels. He has made fifteen appearances for the national side, and made his senior debut against Jordan in May 2008.
Chung-Yong is rated highly by experts in his native land for his dribbling and passing abilities. Let us see whether the lad lives up to his reputation at the Reebok Stadium.
Chung-Yong’s jersey number at Bolton will be No.27.
