Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has said that he’s unsure about whether Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will be at the Parc des Princes next season. Speaking to journalists at the Monaco GP, the former Dortmund gaffer said that it was “his wish” for the duo to stay in Paris, but he “couldn’t promise” it.
The 18/19 season, by PSG’s own lofty standards, was a bit of a disappointment. While they did manage to win Ligue 1, they were eliminated in the Champions League Round of 16 at home by a second-string Manchester United team. There was also disappointment on the Cups front, with Rennes beating them in the French Cup final and Guingamp upsetting them in the last eight of the League Cup.
Neymar has been long linked with Real Madrid while Mbappe, recently crowned Ligue 1 Player of the Year, has said he would like to have more responsibility, even potentially “at a new project”
Real are on a rebuilding missive this summer after re-appointing Zinedine Zidane following last season’s failures and would like one of Neymar or Mbappe, if not both.
The 45 year old Tuchel is currently contracted to PSG till 2021, having just penned an extension to end talks of a potential exit from Parc des Princes.
