Champions Manchester United are reported interested in signing young French starlet Sofiane Feghouli. The 19 year-old is currently with French club Grenoble. He has been dubbed the ‘new Zidane’ by in his homeland and is believed to have impressed United’s scouts.
One obstacle to United signing the midfielder is the youngster wish to stay with his current club and learn his trade. That could change as the youngster has been critical of his own fans in recent weeks after he accused them of not being supportive.
His club Grenoble find themselves rock bottom of Ligue 1 after losing all seven of their league games so far. This has led to rumours that the French youngster could move in the January transfer window. European champions Barcelona, Italian champions Inter and Liverpool are also monitoring his situation.
Meanwhile United’s Premier League rivals Tottenham are reportedly interested in Bordeaux midfielder Wendell. He has impressed in Bordeaux’s rise to the top of the French league last season. The 27 year-old is however not getting too excited about a move saying: “I am not thinking about it at the moment,”
“I am under contract at Bordeaux until 2012.
“It is true that I feel really good in the region and the city. I have bought a house here, my son loves it here and he has just started playing football. We have friends in Bordeaux, it is really cool.”
