Premier League giants Manchester United have agreed a fee of close to £4million for Vitesse Arnhem full-back Alexander Buttner. The Dutch international ace has previously been linked with moves to Premier League lesser lights Southampton, Fulham and QPR.
However, the 23 year-old now looks set for a shock move to Old Trafford. Buttner is highly-rated and has the potential to be a very good player. The youngster was in the Holland preliminary squad for Euro 2012, but was eventually cut from the squad for the tournament.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is looking for competition for first choice left-back Patrice Evra, as the French star was inconsistent last season. The Red Devils were linked with Everton and England full-back Leighton Baines, but the Toffees are believed to be demanding a fee of £20million. It now seems that United have switched their attentions to Buttner.
